How do I pair the watch to a game? +
The admin generates a 5-digit code on the web app. Open the game and look for the Watch pair code panel below the score, then tap Generate watch code. On pickleball, volleyball and badminton games the same panel also sits on the More page.
Open the ScoreMy Games app on the watch and type those 5 digits. The code only ever uses the digits 1 through 6, so the watch keypad can give you six big buttons instead of a cramped number pad.
That is the whole pairing. The game PIN is never needed on the watch.
Does the code expire? +
The pair code expires 30 minutes after you generate it, so a code left on screen at the club is not a way in later. The watch only needs it once.
Once paired, the watch stays paired. It survives the code expiring, and when you start a new session (the Continue button after a match completes) it carries straight over with no re-pairing.
The watch stops scoring only when the admin revokes it, or when the game is archived.
What if the code expired, or I need to boot a watch? +
Open the game and tap New code in the Watch pair code panel for a fresh 5 digits. Any watch already paired keeps working.
To cut a watch off, tap Revoke. That watch stops scoring immediately and has to be paired again with a new code.
Courtside or On Court, which view should I use? +
Right after pairing, the watch asks where you are scoring from. Pick the one that matches:
- Courtside if you are watching from the sideline. The two teams sit side by side, team 1 always on the left, with the server strip across the bottom.
- On Court if you are playing. The court is drawn the way you see it: the other side on top, your side at the bottom marked YOU, and a server strip between them as the net, with an arrow pointing the way the next serve travels.
Either way, you tap the side that won the rally. Change your mind any time: swipe left to the admin page and use the Watch View picker. The choice is remembered per game.
The watch layout does not match the court I am standing on +
That is what the Courtside Orientation section on the admin page is for. It is available on paddle-sport games while you are in the Courtside view, and both settings are cosmetic cues on this watch only.
- iPad On marks which edge of the court the iPad or TV is sitting on.
- My Side puts a small person icon on the side you are standing on, and points the serve arrow accordingly.
On Court needs neither, since that layout is already drawn from your point of view.
The big scoreboard is mirrored from the real court +
Teams change ends between games but their names stay put, so the iPad or TV can end up showing the teams on the wrong sides. On the watch, swipe left to the admin page and tap Display view, then pick the side of the court you are on. Your team moves to that side of the big scoreboard so it matches what everyone is looking at.
This changes the big screen only. The watch itself never flips, and if there is no second screen it changes nothing.
The serve is wrong and undo will not fix it +
Swipe left to the admin page and tap Set server. Pick which side is serving and, on paddle sports, whether it is server 1 or 2. Each tap applies straight away.
The two sides are labelled by court position as well as name, so you are not guessing where a team is standing after they have changed ends.
Fixing the score from the watch +
Tap Undo last on the admin page to rewind one rally, score and serve state together. Tap it again to keep going back. In the On Court view, Undo Last also sits on the right-hand rail so you can reach it without leaving the scoring screen.
If the score has drifted further than undo can sensibly walk back, tap Adjust scores and use the plus and minus buttons to set each team's total. It is saved as a correction, so undo and the recap still work afterwards.
Ending a match and starting the next one +
On the admin page, End match completes the current game. Once it is complete that button is replaced by New match, which starts the next session and drops you back on the scoring screen. The pairing carries over, so there is no new code to type between games.
Disconnect takes this watch off the game entirely. It needs a new pair code to come back.
Keeping the screen on during a game +
By default, Apple Watch dims the screen after a short period of inactivity. To keep ScoreMyGames visible while you are scoring, you can change the screen timeout for just this app. Other apps will not be affected.
On your Apple Watch:
- Open Settings
- Tap General
- Tap Wake Screen
- Scroll down to Return to Clock
- Scroll down to the list of apps and tap ScoreMyGames
- Select Custom and choose your preferred duration
We recommend selecting the longest available option so the score stays visible between rallies.
Will the iPad/TV view update when I score from the watch? +
Yes. Scores broadcast live to every connected device. The big TV view, phone scorers, and any other watches paired to the same game all see the change within a second.
Which games work with the watch? +
Team-sport games: pickleball and other paddle sports, volleyball, badminton, and the generic team-game mode. Card games are scored on the web and in the phone app only.
Serving is tracked on pickleball, volleyball and badminton. Server numbers (SERVER 1 / SERVER 2) are pickleball only.
